Jianqing Gan is an Australian Chinese. Unlike her previous homecoming, on January 14, 2026, she went back to her hometown Zhongshan in Guangdong, with the company of her Dutch in-laws, her daughter and son-in-law and her three grandchildren.

Besides sightseeing, the family made a special trip to the place where Jianqing Gan's father, Ziyuan Gan, once fought, near Sanshanhu Hill in Nanlang subdistrict, to pay tribute to their ancestor.

In May 1945, twenty-four soldiers of the Pearl River Column, including Ziyuan Gan, engaged in a fierce battle against over 300 Japanese soldiers and nearly a thousand puppet soldiers on Sanshanhu Hill. Ziyuan Gan was honored with the title of Combat Hero.
