2025 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Chun Afong, who was the first Chinese millionaire in Hawaii and the son-in-law of the Hawaiian royal family. He was also the "Merchant Prince of Honolulu" and sugar tycoon.

Chun Afong was portrayed in the book written by American writer Jack London as Chun Ah Chun. The story of him and his daughters has been adapted into a Broadway musical called "13 Daughters".

Cy S. Feng, first vice president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, visited Chun Afong's birthplace in this summer. Here and his hometown Zhongshan were both parts of Xiangshan in the past.
