Yesterday, Mayor Chen Maohui, accompanied by Vice Mayor Tan Peian, made an investigation of Zhongshan’s tourism. It was learned that ever since a series of tourism activities has been launched this year themed on the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution, Zhongshan’s tourism has ushered in a period of prosperity. And now Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s hometown — Cuiheng Town — is being planned to be designed into an international tourism town and it is expected to be the first National AAAAA Tourist Attraction in Zhongshan.

Mayor Chen and his delegate first visited the under-construction 1911 Revolution Memorial Park. The 19.8-mu park, located beside Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s former residence, will be open to the public on Oct. 1.

The planned Cuiheng International Tourist Town will cover an area of 1.7 square km with an investment of 13 billion yuan. It is designed to be a Linnan style town in the Republic of China. With Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s former residence as its key attraction. Cuiheng International Tourism Town is to be a scenic spot for people to visit, vacation, and shop. The project will be started on Oct. 9.
