Zhongshan was awarded the honor of “Demonstration City of National Tourism and Leisure” at the Guangdong tourism working conference yesterday. Wang Zhifa, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Director-general of National Tourism Administration, presented the plaque to Zhongshan Vice Mayor Tan Pei’an.

8 projects were listed in the large-scale tourism programs of Guangdong in 2009, including Changjiang Paradise, Guangdong Ao’shan Tourism and Culture Area, Shenwan Shengshi Yacht Manufacturing Base, and Zhongshan Cuiheng Hot-spring Resort with the largest investment of 3.5 billion yuan and so on. At present, all projects are going smoothly.

In 2010, tourism work in Zhongshan will focus on tourism and leisure programs, and many related activities, such as trip to Tanzhou by 10,000 tourists, trip to Zhongshan for people from Shanghai, trip to Shanghai for people from Zhongshan, and trip for overseas Chinese and so on. The Launching Ceremony of Guangdong Industrial Tourism will also be held in Zhongshan.
