According to the preparation conference for Sun Yat-sen Cultural Week 2009 yesterday, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Week is renamed as Sun Yat-sen Cultural Week from this year on.

The theme of Sun Yat-sen Cultural Week this year is “Promoting Sun Yat-sen’s Spirit and Building the Cultural Brand”. Over 50 activities covering three major series as memorial activities, cultural activities and tourism activities were held during that week. Luo Fu, a well-known 81-year-old modern poet was invited to attend the preparation conference and grant the awards for those winners in the essay-writing contest for “Zhongshan’s Achievements in the Past 60 Years” in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
