Zhongshan police have set up 26 DNA sample collection sites across 24 towns and sub-districts and put them into use. There is no fee for DNA sample collection, and the police hope that this service will benefit families searching for their abducted or missing children by means of DNA comparison.

The 26 DNA sample collection sites are all located in local police stations, including 3 in West District and 1 in each of the other towns and sub-districts.

In line with the national "Reunion" action plan deployed by the Ministry of Public Security to find abducted and missing children, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Zhongshan Public Security Bureau has helped 8 abducted children reunite with their biological parents in the last 2 months since March 2021. The dedicated efforts of police in Minzhong Town have helped a mother reunite with her son after 31 years of separation through DNA comparison.
