The Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis Technology (Third-generation Test-tube Baby Technology) applied for by Zhongshan Bo'ai Hospital has passed the national expert review panel and has been approved for formal operation.

This means that Zhongshan Bo'ai Hospital has become the first and only hospital in Zhongshan that is equipped with the country's most advanced third-generation test-tube baby technology.

Third-generation test-tube baby technology can take the genetic material of the embryo for analysis before embryo transplantation to diagnose whether there are any abnormalities and ensure a healthy embryo will be transferred into the mother's uterus. This technology can prevent the birth of children with genetic diseases at the source.

The technology has been put into trial operationpreviously, and Zhongshan's first "third-generation test-tube baby" was born in May this year.
