The demonstration project of public bicycle system has passed review yesterday. It is estimated that more than 6.2 million people rented public bikes for transportation last year. There are now 649 bicycle stations with 16,882 bike posts and 13,660 bikes for rent. Taking the central urban areas of Zhongshan for example, there are 267 bike stations, 7,540 bike posts and 7,080 bikes in use, increasing the station density in Eastern District, Shiqi District, Western District and most areas in Southern District with 1 station every 300-500 meters. In 2015, the public bikes have been used for 6,210,738 times while only in the main city up to 4,844,131 times.
