The combination of poetic teaching and moral education is beneficial to develop students’ morality.
Practices such as introducing poetry to class, teaching in poetic language and moulding students’ mind with poetry are considered typical cases of “poetic teaching”. The summary meeting for 2010 Pupils’ Poetry Festival in Guangdong Province was held in Torch Development Zone of Zhongshan in late July, which caught much more attention from the public. The “poetic teaching” advocated and practiced in Sanxin Bilingual School Affiliated to Zhongshan Memorial Middle School and Xiaolan Jucheng Primary School obtains great praise and recognition from the attendants who show great interest in it and from the activity organizer. Deputy editor Wang Peinan of Nanfang Daily even suggested promoting and popularizing the teaching. Qiu Shuhong, member of Municipal Standing Committee and minister of Municipal Propaganda Department, expressed his insight in poetic teaching which is inspiring on how to strengthen ideological and moral education to teenagers, so the experience is worth promoting. Combining poetic teaching and moral education can not only help arouse students’ imagination, improve their aesthetics, but also benefit students a lot in their moral development.
