Nantou Town and Huangpu Town have reached the standard of "Strong Education Town in Guangdong Province" and passed the re-evaluation with the approval from the experts of the provincial inspecting and approving group.

In accordance with the idea of "priority of educational development", Nantou Town has put increasing funds in education. In 2007 it successfully completed the adjustment of the layout of primary and secondary schools, so that conditions of primary and secondary schools at present in the town have been greatly improved. Education with Nantou characteristics has made evident progress in such fields as calligraphy, martial arts, taekwondo and others. Leap-forward progress has been made in the early childhood education, private education, adult education and community and cultural building in the past four years.

For the past four years, Huangpu Town has taken education as the first priority. The annual expenditures on education counted for 30% of that of the town. From 2006 to 2008 the community donated more than 5 million yuan in total and played a significant role in promoting quality education, implementation of the overall optimization and continuous improvement of the education system and so on.
