Liang Junxi, a 12-year-old boy, won the first gold medal of for the Zhongshan Gymnastics Team at the 16th Guangdong Provincial Games in Zhaoqing City on the morning of August 1.

On the day, Liang participated in six men's group A events, including floor exercise, rings, vault, horizontal bar, parallel bars and pommel horse. He won the gold medal in floor exercise with 13.825 points and the bronze medal in rings with 13.375 points.

In addition, he won a bronze medal in the individual all-around competition of men's group A on July 31.

The gymnastics competition of this provincial games began on July 30 and would continue through August 3. As of 24:00 on August 1, the Zhongshan Gymnastics Team has won one gold and four bronze medals.
