The fourth phase of the Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway, which is 6km in length, opened to traffic on December 27. This marks the fully completion of the 67-km-long expressway.
From then on, half an hour can be saved when driving from Huangpu and other towns in Zhongshan to Jiangmen city. The expressway will greatly facilitate communications between Zhongshan's Huangpu, Nantou, Dongfeng and Xiaolan towns and the western part of Guangdong province.
It is also a fast channel between Dongfeng and Nantou towns in addition to the National Highway G105.
The Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway connects Guangzhou, Jiangmen, Zhongshan and Foshan cities. It starts in Yayao Town, Jiangmen's Heshan, and ends in Dagang Town, Guangzhou's Nansha, connecting with 10 other expressways such as the Foshan-Kaiping Expressway, Jiangmen-Zhaoqing Expressway and Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway, as well as 12 industrial towns such as Zhongshan's Xiaolan and Shunde's Jun'an.
