After nearly 6 months of training, the 13 members of Guangdong's 31st medical team to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea donate blood in the Central Blood Station in Zhongshan on the afternoon of November 4. They will leave for Africa next month for a 20-month medical assistance program.
In May this year, the Guangdong's 31st medical team to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea was formally established. This team is composed of 25 Zhongshan medical staff and capable personnel, mainly born after the 1980s. Subsequently, they received nearly a 6-month training at Zhongshan Torch Polytechnic, covering Spanish language training, team building, and comprehensive quality and ability training, before going abroad.
"There is a 7-hour time difference between the local area in Africa and Zhongshan, and the network signal is not good there. I hope that each team member can adapt and find a way to contact their families," the team leader Chen Guangwei said. "Our team members share a mission to perform our duties on behalf of our country. As the team leader, I will do my best to complete the task successfully along with my team members."
