Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, health and medicine experts from home and abroad, experts from research institutes and universities, leaders of industrial organizations, innovative and entrepreneurial teams, and representatives of entrepreneurs attended this grand meeting in view of sharing the latest development achievements in the field of medical science and technology.

Wang Chen and Zhang Tingdong won the 2019 Wu Jieping Medicine Prize, while Wang Shengqi, Wang Wei, Linghu Enqiang, Zhang Weidong, Chen Xiang and Dong Chen won the 2019 Wu Jieping Medicine Innovation Prize.

Sun Yinghao, an academician gave a keynote speech on "Being Interesting and Meaningful Doctors". Academicians Dong Chen, Wang Songling and Bian Xiuwu, as well as Li Jia, director of Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, CAS and Zhou Muzhi, professor at the Tokyo Keizai University, joined a high-level talk on "Building an Innovative Community in the Greater Bay Area".

In addition, there were other activities such as the International New Horizons Forum on Urology, Forum on Molecular Imaging Development of Nuclear Medicine in the New Era, Forum on Pharmaceutical Innovation and Investment, Forum on Biomedical Innovation and Cooperation of Guangdong and Hong Kong, and Summit Forum on Occupational Health Services of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

At this grand meeting, the Zhongshan People's Government and the Wu Jieping Medical Foundation signed a cooperation agreement to build the site of the Wu Jieping Medicine Prize award ceremony, meaning that, the presentation ceremony site of this "Noble Prize of Chinese Medical Profession" is set in Zhongshan.
