In July 2023, Zhongshan's Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased 0.1% year-on-year, which is 0.1 percentage points lower than that of June. It increased 0.3% month-on-month, with a difference of 0.5 percentage points from a month earlier. On average from January to July, Zhongshan's CPI rose 0.6% compared to the same period last year, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the average from January to June.
In July, the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol dropped 0.3% compared to a month earlier. Among them, the prices of condiments and aquatic products rose 0.9% and 0.5% respectively, and the prices of cooking oils, milk products and fresh vegetables decreased 2.3%, 2.1% and 1.8% respectively.
Education, culture and entertainment prices increased 1.3%, and that of transportation and communication increased 1.2%. The prices of other supplies and services rose 1.1%, while the clothing prices decreased 0.4%. Housing and health care prices leveled off.
