Francis M.B. Sade, Premier of Guadalcanal Province, Solomon Islands, recently visited Zhongshan with his colleagues.

They visited the Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the SCAU hydroponic vegetable Nanlang base, the Cuiheng New District Planning Exhibition Center and the Star Alliance Global Brand Lighting Center to learn about Zhongshan's regional advantages within the Greater Bay Area, cultural history and industrial development.

Located in the south extension area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, the Solomon Islands consist of over 900 islands in all sizes, of which the largest is Guadalcanal. On May 15, 2023, Guangdong Province and Guadalcanal Province of Solomon Islands signed an agreement on the establishment of sister province relationship in Guangzhou, the first of its kind between China and Solomon Islands.
