Zhongshan West Ring Expressway (including the Xiaolan feeder road) opened to traffic on January 15 as fireworks were set off at its opening ceremony.

With a full length of 58 kilometers, the main line of Zhongshan West Ring Expressway starts at the Yongning interchange of Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway and ends at Xianghai Bridge in Tanzhou Town. With a full length of about 14 kilometers, the Xiaolan feeder road starts at the Xiaolan interchange of Zhongshan West Ring Expressway and ends at the West District entry/exit of Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway.

The main line, which basically overlaps Guzhen-Shenwan Expressway, passes eastern and northern Guzhen Town, western Henglan Town, the Henglan service area, Dachong Town and the Banfu service area.

Zhongshan West Ring Expressway will be accessible within 5 to 10 minutes from 8 towns and districts along the route, including Xiaolan, Guzhen, Henglan, West District, Dachong, Banfu, Shenwan and Tanzhou, and the drive from Xiaolan to Tanzhou will be reduced by 30 minutes. The expressway is of great strategic significance to the economic development of western Zhongshan.
