The 29.8-kilometer-long Xianghai Bridge officially opened to traffic on November 6. An opening ceremony was held at the Zhaoxin toll station in Doumen District, Zhuhai.

With a full length of 29.8 kilometers, a speed limit of 100km/h for the main line and 80km/h for branch lines, Xianghai Bridge is built in accordance with the standards of a six-lane, two-way highway. There are eight toll stations, including the Zhaoxin main line toll station and Jiechong, Lixi, Meihua, Mingzhu, Zaobei, Gree Town and Anfu ramp toll stations.

The Anfu toll station located in Zhongshan's Tanzhou Town is temporarily closed, meaning that Zhongshan citizens can only access Xianghai Highway through Tanzhou Interchange on the West Coastal Highway. From Tanzhou to Huxin Road in Doumen District, it takes about 20 minutes driving.

When the charging system of Xianghai Bridge is fully put into use on November 14, it will take 40 minutes less for Zhongshan citizens to drive to Doumen through the bridge than through Zhuhai Avenue.

The toll charge of the bridge will be 0.6 yuan per standard vehicle kilometer. This means the total charge will be about 18 yuan for the full 29.8 kilometers length from Tanzhou Interchange to Huxin Road.
