The men's basketball team of Zhongshan Polytechnic (ZSPT) has obtained the qualification to participate in the China University Basketball Association (CUBA), and will represent Guangdong province to compete in higher vocational college group competition in the 22nd CUBA league. This is the first time that a Zhongshan college basketball team has qualified to compete CUBA.

CUBA was officially launched in 1998. It is the first college-oriented and social-oriented special sports event in the history of Chinese sports. Up to now, 21 seasons have been successfully held.

The higher vocational college group includes four competition regions. 16 teams from eight southeast provinces, including Guangdong, will participate in the competition. The competition will be held in Zhejiang in March 2020.

It is the first time ZSPT has entered the national league tournament of greater ball games since its foundation 14 years ago.

In December 2019, the 19th Guangdong University Basketball League Group A (higher vocational college group) competition ended and ZSPT men's basketball team won the runner-up prize.
