Dr. Sun Yat-sen spent his childhood in Cuiheng Village (翠亨村), Zhongshan. Like ordinary farm children, he needed to do heavy farm work, but he often thought that "the life of Chinese farmers should not remain so hard forever. Chinese children should have shoes and rice." It gave Sun Yat-sen a space for free development to form an independent personality and a strong physique. The inspiration of many thoughts in his future was inseparable from the hard-working farm life in the hometown in his early time.

At the age of 17, Sun Yat-sen took Western courses in Honolulu, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and other places, and gradually broadened his eyes. After graduating in the autumn of 1892, he practiced medicine in Macao. Sun Yat-sen chose to do medical because "the school is used for advocating and the medicine is used for engaging into the society." He eventually gave up the admirable "people-saving" profession and resolutely took the responsibility of "saving the country".

In 1894, the Sino-Japanese War broke out, and the Northern Fleet was defeated. After the Guangzhou Uprising in 1895, the Qing government listed Sun Yat-sen, who led this uprising, as a wanted man. He had to flee to Japan and London and encountered many difficulties and dangers. Since then, Sun Yat-sen realized that "a peaceful method is no longer an option", knowing that only a revolutionary organization could save China by overthrowing the decaying Qing Dynasty. He contacted overseas Chinese in Honolulu, publicized the revolution, established the Revive China Society, and eventually established the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance (also known as "Tongmenghui"). Since then, the Chinese bourgeois revolutionaries had appeared in the history of China. In 1911, under the leadership and influence of Sun Yat-sen, the 1911 Revolution that shocked the world succeeded, overthrew the rule of the Qing Dynasty and ended the absolute monarchy that ruled China for thousands of years.

The Sun Wen Memorial Park (孙文纪念公园), which is located in the southern downtown Zhongshan and at the intersection of Xingzhong Avenue and Chenggui Road, is solemn as a whole. To the south of the park is the Bo'ai Hospital of Zhongshan (博爱医院), which was built with the funds raised from the Zhongshan Charity Parade. Sun Yat-sen’s idea of love and care blossoms next to the park named after him.
