The Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangdong Province recently announced the candidate list of the 2021 provincial models of leisure agriculture and rural tourism and the list of qualified demonstration sites. Zhongshan's Shenwan Town was among the provincial model towns in leisure agriculture and rural tourism, and the Shenwan-based Ziyou Farm was among the provincial model sites of leisure agriculture and rural tourism.

Shenwan has an excellent natural environment with abundant natural resources and is home to Modao Island and Zhupai Island which are surrounded by water. In addition to pineapples, tylorrhynchus and melons and fruits, Shenwan Town is also well-known for its Yaji Mountain Forest Park and the Huxin Park in Shenxi Village.

Shenwan has been vigorously promoting all-for-one tourism and the integration of the agriculture, culture and tourism industries. It is also striving to develop into a beacon of rural revitalization with high living standards and suitable business and tourism environments in the southern part of Zhongshan.
