The commencement ceremony of the Xianghai Road north section project was held in Tsuihang New District on March 1, signaling the start of construction on Zhongshan's "Lovers Avenue".

"Lovers Avenue" mainly refers to Xianghai Road in Tsuihang New District, which is divided into north, south and extended sections. The 22-kilometer road extends all the way south from Hengmen Bridge to the vicinity of Qi'ao Island in Zhuhai City.

Xianghai Road is part of Zhongshan's Top 10 Livelihood Projects for 2022 and it is the first coastal scenic highway in the city. The north section that newly began construction is 4.3 kilometers long, with an investment of 1.1 billion yuan. It will further extend to Zhuhai in the future.
