Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen expands 44 times in 3 years

Zhongshan have had some famous tourism brand such as the first mechanic amusement park and first golf playground in the nation, etc. In order to reinforce advantages of tourism, Zhongshan will strongly develop tourism with the concept of the former residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

According to the plan, the area of the Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen will expand to 6.3 million square meters from existing 140 thousand square meters, 45 times larger than the original one. The construction will be completed in 3 years and become a national 5A scenic spot. The original sceneries including the Memorial Hall of the Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Zhongshan City, Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial School, Old Village of Cuiheng, Shimen Painters Village and Zhongshan Cemetery of Revolutionary Martyrs and so on will be integrated and new facilities will be built. The new scenic area is comparatively more magnificent and consists of three groups as recreational tourism, cultural tourism and red tourism (revolution tourism).

New construction projects such as Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Square and Zhongshan Intangible Heritage Museum will start expand soon. The intangible heritage of Zhongshan, for example salt water songs, Xiaolan chrysanthemum show, Shaxi herbal tea and Drunk Dragon Dance will gathered together to realized a seamless connect with other scenic spots around the Former Residence of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It is learned that the research on the Outline of Protecting Intangible Heritage is also officially started yesterday morning.
