As the hometown of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the great revolution forerunner in modern Chinese history, Zhongshan city has experienced tremendous changes over the 60 years. It has developed from an agricultural county into a medium-sized city making great improvements in both agriculture and industry, and its gross economic volume ranking in the forefront of Guangdong Province. Besides, Zhongshan has been awarded a number of national honors.
