Recently, Torch Notary Office under the Zhongshan Bureau of Justice provided online notary services for Mr Li who lives in Australia through Wechat applet "Zhongshan Smart Notarization".

Mr Li cannot return to China for the time being because of the COVID-19 epidemic, so he entrusted his wife to handle litigation affairs on his behalf. The notaries of Torch Notary Office gave guidance to him through the telephone and the online messaging app QQ. Despite the time difference and network problems, they helped Mr Li submit the application and complete the notarization  in the end.

"Zhongshan Smart Notarization" was launched in November 2020. A total of 40 notary service itmes such as property contract signing can be handled online through this applet.
