1. Location Advantage

Adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao, Gangkou town is seated in the hinterland of the Pearl River Delta, with Zhongshan port in its east and Dongsheng town and Fusha town in its west. It has a total area of 70.5 square kilometers and a population of nearly 110,000. Being the plain area in the middle part of Zhongshan, the town levels out and is covered with rivers including Xiaolan channel, Hengmen Channel, Shiqi Channel, inland shallow lakes and Gangkou River. The transportation is convenient and easy of access, for it takes only 10 minutes to Zhongshan port and 90 minutes to Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Hongkong, Guangzhou and many other cities, as Jing-Zhu highway, Zhong-Jiang highway, Pan-Zhong road and Guang-Zhu light rail all pass through the town. It is an important transportation hub, connecting Guangdong to Hong Kong and Macao.

2. Economic Development

3. Service Industry Development

4. Introduction to Gangkou Industrial Park

1. Muhejing Industrial Park
Muhejing Industrial Park is seated in the north gate of Zhongshan with very convenient transportation. Next to Jing-Zhu highway, Zhong-jiang highway and the exit of northern outer ring road, it is 200-meters away from the Shiqi stop of Guang-zhu light rail. According to the general plan of Gangkou government, Muhejing industrial park is to be a multi-functional comprehensive park focusing on industries as well as developing business, accommodation and entertainment. At present, 81 projects have been introduced and 56 enterprises including high-tech ones like Tianjian Electronic Industrial Company have already gone into production. The output value of the park was 1.67 billion yuan in 2007.

2. Dafeng Industrial Park
A land area of 144.8 hectare has already been developed in Dafeng industrial park and the road system has been formed in the park with Shagang road passing through from east to west and Jing-Zhu highway running through its middle area. Infrastructures are well equipped in the park with complete facilities of water and electricity supply, road system and telecommunication. At present, 53 projects have been introduced and 38 enterprises have already gone into production. The output value of the park was 3.026 billion yuan in 2007.

3. Shite Industrial Park
As a main developing area, Shite Industrial Park is located in the northwest of Gangkou with a total planned area of 410.47 hectare. Shanggangxi Road goes through the park from east to west connecting the 105 National Highway. Convenient transportation and the infrastructures under construction like water supply, telecommunication, and sewage disposal facilities have been making the town more and more competitive. At present, 192 projects have been introduced and 120 enterprises including New Elegant Living Timber Manufacturing (Zhongshan) Ltd. and Jiahao Food Company Ltd. have already gone into production. The output value of the park was 1.85 billion yuan in 2007.
