Shenwan Town, 20 kilometers away from downtown Zhongshan and 30 kilometers from Gongbei of Zhuhai City, is located in the west bank of Modao Gate Watercourse of Xijiang River estuary in the south of Zhongshan City. The natural and professional port – Shenwan Port

Shenwan Port is located in the estuary of Xijiang River. The port is 17 sea miles from Macao and 52 sea miles from Hong Kong by water. It connects Mayang Highway on the land and it is 20 kilometer away from downtown Zhongshan.

Shenwan Port is a Class B Port Project approved by Guangdong Provincial Government and a major project of the Tenth Five-Year Plan of Zhongshan. It mainly serves the southern areas of Zhongshan, expanding to Zhuhai and Macao. Shenwan, as an express passage of export and import, plays an important role in the development of commerce, trade, finance and industry in the south of Zhongshan.

The river of Shenwan Port is 470 meters wide and 6 meters deep. There are four 3000-ton berths with corresponding warehouses, containers and miscellaneous goods yard. The berths are each 240 meters long. Shenwan Port Industrial Park is located on the Modao Island in the southwest of Zhongshan City, where Shenwan Port is located. The industrial zone covers an area of 775 ha, including 237 ha of industrial land. It is a municipal-level industrial park and enjoys municipal preferential policies. The industrial zone takes the industrial sector as the pillar and promotes the development of real estate and the tertiary industry. It is equipped with facilities of housing and public services and municipal infrastructure. The recent introduction of high-tech enterprises that produce optical devices, and equipment manufacturing enterprises that produce large port crane machine, as well as port logistics and warehousing services, the settlement of Shengshi Marina Port Club and the construction of Dexin real estate, will further promote the commercial and residential development on the island.

Nansha Industrial Zone is located in the central north of Shenwan Town. It faces Shenwan Sea to the west and connects Shenwan Avenue in the east.
