The COVID-19 pandemic greatly impacted the international supply and industrial chains in 2021. Zhongshan Customs had put efforts in serving enterprises and stabilizing businesses and promoted the implementation of processing trade reform policies to help local processing trade enterprises overcome difficulties.

According to Zhongshan Customs' data, in 2021, Zhongshan's imports and exports of processing trade stood at 98.96 billion yuan, an increase of 11.1%, accounting for 36.7% of the total import and export value and gradually returning to pre-pandemic levels.

Last year, Zhongshan Customs joined hands with Zhongshan Port Customs to launch 22 measures to optimize business environment at ports and promote cross-border trade. For enterprises newly moved into Zhongshan and plan to do business in processing trade, Zhongshan Customs and Zhongshan Port Customs also offer study and coaching service to help them "take the first step" well.

"Under the instructions of customs officers, we completed all the procedures of the first manual for processing trade. We were also exempted from the risk guarantee fee of nearly 1.5 million yuan. These help us a lot and strengthen our confidence and determination in long-term development in Zhongshan," said Mr Zhao, declarant of Xingqiao Technology, a company recently relocated to Tsuihang New District from Shenzhen.
