2011-09-30

Principal leaders were checking the venue as well as some key projects for commemorating the centennial anniversary of the 1911 Revolution.

The centennial anniversary of the 1911 Revolution is just two week away. Yesterday, major leaders once again checked the venue as well as some key projects for the commemoration activities. Party Secretary Xue Xiaofeng reiterated that the commemoration is not only about the present but also about the future. On the one hand, the activities are sure to present people with a grand festival; on the other hand, the projects launched for the commemoration should be permanent treasures for the future generations. Major leaders Chen Maohui, Yu Rongwei and Qiu Shuhong accompanied to inspect.

With the centennial anniversary drawing near, the construction of many projects is about to end. Projects like Celebrity Statues in Xingzhong Park and Qijiang River Tour are open to the public on schedule; the landscape improvement of the surrounding environment of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is about to finish and the redesigning of Sun Yat-sen Former Residence has been accomplished.

Xue emphasized that it is a grand political commemoration activity and more than that, it is a festival for common people. It drives a lot of projects beneficial to the city building and people’s livelihood to spring up. On Oct. 10, these projects will make their debut and be open to people’s inspection.
