Parade are moving with the music “We move with love”.

The charity money reveals the fraternity and love in Zhongshan people.

Annual Zhongshan Charity Parade 2013 is held yesterday afternoon and 156 teams of over 20000 people participate in the parade. They move in the music “We move with love” and show Zhongshan culture—charity, fraternity and civilization. This year’s parade is larger in number of both teams and people. In addition, a new record of over 86 million yuan is raised around the whole city.

Vice Director of NPC Standing Committee, president of Red Cross Society of China Hua Jianmin, president of Guangdong Branch Red Cross Society Of China Lei Yulan, Director of Sun Yat-sen Foundation Tang Bingquan, Secretary-General of Red Cross Society of China Wang Rupeng, Secretary of CPC Zhongshan Committee Xue Xiaofeng, Mayor Chen Liangxian, etc. participate in the parade and donate on the scene.

This is the 26th charity parade with the theme of “inheriting the spirit of love and spreading the new civilized culture”. The parade is started at about 3 p.m. and Hua Jianmin, Lei Yulan, Tang Bingquan, Xue Xiaofeng, Chen Liangxian, etc. walk in the first row, waving small colorful flags to the crowd on the roadside. They are followed by teams wearing different uniforms from towns, districts, companies, etc. Xingzhong Avenue is filled with citizens on the roadside, parade teams on the avenue with sounds of lion shows, dragon dance shows and talks from people along the sides.

In the parade a few teams are especially outstanding because they have never showed in the parade before—a team made of foreigners and overseas Chinese, Red Cross team of 130 members, a team of champion athletes born in Zhongshan, a team of people from the media circle, etc. The number of teams is 30 more than that of last year. Folk art show is another highlight for citizens along the roadsides besides those special teams.

Hua Jianmin who attends the parade for the first time said, “It is a day for charity, harmony and all the people.” He tells he wants to participate in the parade long before and his dream finally comes true.

In his words, “It is a very good mass activity, especially in Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s hometown. It shows his ideal and notion of “fairness and fraternity”. It is really rear that a charity parade has over 10000 participants and it is really difficult to carry it on for 26 years. I hope it will be better and carried on.”

Xue Xiaofeng stresses that Zhongshan Charity Parade goes along with more and more connotations, and also increasing enthusiasm from the people. In his opinion, it has become an international brand to spread the spirit of Red Cross, a flagship of the time to spread traditional culture of fraternity, a try to carry out socialist core values and also a folk day and festival for 3 million Zhongshan residents and 1 million overseas Chinese. “It will fuel Zhongshan to first realize the dream of well-off life.

Chen Liangxian first participates in the parade and says “We must carry on the spirit of fraternity and love to motivate all people to work better for prosperity.”

At the starting ceremony, bouquets of respect are presented to the citizen representatives for citizens’ love and support in the past 25 years. The charity check is also presented to Zhongshan Red Cross by the citizen representative who participate in the parade every year in the past 25 years.
