Recently the inaugural meeting and the first Council meeting of Gangkou Charity Society was held with election of chairman, executive vice chairman, vice chairman, and secretary-general of the society.

It is learned that Zhongshan’s Gangkou Town Charity Society was approved for establishment in March this year. Soon after, the Preparatory Group started the preparatory work, actively encouraged and recommended 83 units or individuals to become founding members, and raised 11.9 million Yuan. Chen Xusheng, chairman of Gangkou Town Charity Society, expressed that the use of the donation will be open and transparent. A separate bank account will be opened for special management of the donation. All donated materials will be registered and publicized regularly to ensure rational use of donations, to receive the supervision of donators, individuals, and the public. The charity society is also under the supervision of finance and audit departments.
