The Working Conference of Red Cross (Zhongshan Branch) & 2011 Charity Parade Mobilization Meeting was held in the Conference Center of the Municipal Government on Nov. 30. It is informed that 2011 Zhongshan Charity Parade with the theme of “Extending benevolence and affection to every household” will be held on Nov. 30 to Feb. 17, 2010. This would be the 24th session of charity parade ever held in Zhongshan.

Besides the traditional “Charity Parade Carnival”, “100 enterprises charity sale”, “Extending warmth and love”, “‘Extending love and happiness to every household’ fund-raising party”, a series of theme activities will also be held for the application of “2010 Touching China” award, the specific plan of which will be publicized in the middle of December.

According to statistics, Red Cross (Zhongshan Branch) received a donation of 59,5358 million yuan while the donation outlay was 71.0862 million yuan from Nov, 2009 to Oct, 2010. The donation balance reached 24.5180 million yuan at the beginning of the period. Of the donation outlay, relief fund added up to 40.97 million yuan, accounting for half of the total. According to Jian Haiyan, Vice President of Red Cross (Zhongshan Branch), when Southwest drought, Yushu earthquake, Zhouqu mudslide, West Guangdong floods, Hainan floods and other disasters happened one after another from March to October, 2010, Red Cross (Zhongshan Branch) made instant response to these disasters and carried out relief soon.
