A 7.1 earthquake hit Yushu, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province at 7:49, April 14, causing heavy losses of life and property. On the belief of "When disaster strikes, helps come from all sides”, Red Cross (Zhongshan) appealed for emergent assistance to the devastated area at 22:39:13, April 14.
Yesterday morning, Luo brothers went to the office of the Red Cross (Zhongshan) and donated 1000 yuan on site, which was the first donation the Red Cross had received since it issued the appeal. As of 17:30 of yesterday, Red cross (Zhongshan Branch) had received 34,500 yuan donation and other aids worth nearly 150,000 yuan.
According to Red Cross (Zhongshan Branch), the donation through banks, post offices and internet should indicate the name, address and purpose (i.e. for the earthquake-stricken area of Yushu, Qinghai Province) of donators so that the donation receipts could be received timely. Moreover, Red Cross (Zhongshan Branch) do not accept old clothes now due to the limited conditions
