On the morning of July 12, the Zhongshan and Shaxi committees of Chinese Communist Youth League jointly carried out the "He Xiao Qing" River Protection and Volunteer Patrol to clean up non-degradable garbage on the river with canoes, and to inspect and record whether there is unlawful dumping on either side of the river.

The "He Xiao Qing" volunteer program was launched in 2018. This year, Nanlang Town took the lead in bringing the program to its youth community colleges, and started a primary training courses on canoe skills to improve the knowledge of mangrove and wetland ecological protection, safety rescue, and canoe control skills for young people.

It is estimated that up to now, Youth League organizations at all levels and young volunteers associations in Zhongshan have carried out 2,587 river protection and patrol activities, and nearly 27,000 volunteers have directly participated in the community service.
