The Ministry of Water Resources recently announced the 4th list of "Water Conservation Standard Counties (Districts)", and Zhongshan's South District made the list.

By the end of 2020, South District had completed the construction of 5 water-saving schools (Liangdu Primary School, Beitai Primary School, Yingcai School of Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Secondary School, Liangdu Middle School and Maling Primary School), 4 water-saving enterprises (Guangdong Meiyile Food Co Ltd, Guangdong Leetac Electronics Technology Co Ltd, Bonderra Industries Co Ltd and Zhongshan Yuanzaishan Fungus Industry Co Ltd), as well as 4 community residents committees, 5 residential communities and 36 public institutions including the district government building which met water conservation standards.

In 2021, South District plans to continue the construction of 2 water-saving enterprises, 8 water-saving residential communities and 1 water-saving school. This year, a student of Yingcai School of Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Secondary School was selected as the provincial water-saving little pacemaker.
