"River sheriffs" will be appointed for 1,057 watercourses in Zhongshan step by step. The Zhongshan River Chief System Office is guiding all towns and districts to replace bulletin boards that show the updated information of "river sheriffs".

At present, Guangdong is comprehensively carrying out the "river and lake sheriff" management across the province. Its plan is to realize full coverage of the "sheriff management" for rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and other kinds of waters by the end of 2020. At the same time, a joint cooperation mechanism will be established to further integrate information resources and unite management strength.
