Zhongshan Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau has appropriated 171 million yuan this year as ecological compensation, a consecutive growth for 3 years after 141 million yuan in 2016 and 104 million yuna in 2015.

From 2017, capital for ecological compensation will be allotted according to an evaluation mechanism that review compensation standards, targets and relevant policies every five years. Now the reform has attained considerable achievements. In the near future, key ecological function areas, environmentally sensitive and fragile areas will be demarcated to be protected with strict admission regulations and management measures.
