Ecological environment is an important factor taken into account in developing economy of Zhongshan. Environment protection, as a task closely related to people’s livelihood and sustainable development of the city, is incorporated into one of the key eight jobs in the report of the 14th session of Zhongshan Municipal People’s Congress.

Five points are very important for the environment protection in the following five years. Firstly, improving environment advantage, and prioritizing the construction of ecological city. Secondly, maintaining blue sky and clear water and keeping environment prevention and control in a long time. Thirdly, focusing on sewage treatment. Fourthly, improving environment protection legal system under the guidance of Further Environment Protection Concept and building an effective environment protection mechanism. Fifthly, carrying through Party spirit education and discipline education all the time.
