Chen Genkai and other city leaders are experiencing the bus driven by natural gas.

Zhongshan Daily News-General Secretary of Zhongshan CPC Committee, Director of Zhongshan People’s Congress Standing Committee Chen Genkai input gas for the first natural-gas bus of Zhongshan at 5:13 p.m. yesterday, which indicated the official use of gas bus in Zhongshan. The first 25 natural-gas buses are used in No. 005, No.090, and No.033. Another 75 gas buses will be ready for use.

The natural gas for the buses is provided by CNOOC Gas & Power Group. Zhongshan Government and the group are negotiating for further cooperation. The future gas station is expected to provide with petroleum, gas and electricity power.
According to Deng Xiaobing’s address, it is estimated that 20 natural gas stations will be built by 2012 and that the number will be 50 in 2020.
