In 2009, 21 model green villages were established, including Haigang village in Shenwan Town, Guangfu village in Banfu Town, Maling village in the South District, Zuobu village in Nanlang Town, Yuan Hengli village in Shaxi and so on, greatly improving the ecological environment and people’s lives in the villages.

Since 2009, Zhongshan government has invested 200 million yuan to develop forestation in Zhongshan and established 21 model green model villages, 13 various parks and green squares, 408 kilometers long green road and so on. Taking the opportunity of the activity of establishing ecological civilization and greening model villages, the government carried out overall surveys in villages and made detailed plans to establish more than 100 such villages from 2009 to 2013.
