Nanlang’s tertiary industry in which tourism plays the leading role is boosting the town’s “urban economy” as it received more than 1,600 thousand tourists and brought income of about 136 million yuan last year. Compared with the previous year, the number of tourists and income rose by 10% and 15% respectively.

Since last year, Nanlang has been accelerating the development of modern service industries, pushing forward the construction of a series of tertiary projects such as the Cuiheng Hot Spring Holiday Resort, the 5 A tourist spot-Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen, and so on. Now different forms of tourism have taken initial shape. These forms include the historical and cultural tour focusing on Sun Yat-sen culture, the leisure and sightseeing tour with themes of tasting featured seafood and enjoying seaview and wetland, the religious culture tour featuring parks, temple complexes, and Shizai Temple, the ecological tour of Yunti and Difeng Mountains, the farming experience tour characterized by tasting of featured fruits, and the “red tour” featuring Sun Yat-sen’s Former Residence and the Home for Glorious Veterans.

The Guangzhou-Zhuhai City Rail brings Nanlang’s tourism new opportunities. Nanlang plans to make tourism play a leading role in the town’s tertiary industry, maximize and integrate leisure tour, business tour, and holiday tour resources, provide complete tourist service facilities, so as to turn Nanlang into an important tourist site in the Pearl River Delta.
