The output value of electronic information industry in Torch Zone increased from 7.2 billion yuan in 2001 to 34.7 billion yuan in 2009, accounting for more than 50% of the output of the industry in Zhongshan and 40% of the total industrial output of the zone, and it is expected to increase more than 70% reaching as high as 60 billion yuan this year. At present, the zone is planning to be established as one of the most important industrial base of high-end electronic information in the South of China.

The electronic information industry has realized both quantitative expansion and qualitative leap in the past 10 years by changing development orientation from electronic assembly industries to high-end and new electronic industries. In addition, various related industrial clusters have been formed and been improved.

By taking the chance of establishing the national innovative scientific and technology park, the zone has spared no efforts to from strong competitiveness in key areas of high-end electronic information industry and planed to establish a sophisticated high-end electronic information industry system in 2015 by expanding those influential enterprises and industries and developing a series of famous fist products with competitive advantages.
