The commencement ceremony of phase I of the Chengyi Waisha Technology Innovation City in Shenwan Town was held on August 2, marking the official start of the first "single main body filed" industrial park renovation project in Zhongshan.

With a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan, the Waisha Technology Innovation City will include high-standard factory buildings of a total of 636,100 square meters. It will be built into a diversified, compound-type, modern industrial park for the manufacturing of intelligent equipment, electronic information equipment, new materials, high-end medical equipment, laser additive and precision instruments.

Upon completion, the project will offer nearly 15,000 new jobs and generated an annual output value of nearly 3.5 billion yuan and an annual tax revenue of 150 million yuan.

Up to now, Shenwan Town has demolished 60,500 square meters of old factory buildings and reorganized 598.73 mu of land, completing 74.84% of the annual task.
