Ground-breaking site of Zhongshan Bonded Logistics Center (Type B)
Zhongshan Daily - Zhongshan Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) broke ground in Langwang Village of Minzhong Town yesterday. It is estimated the construction would be completed by the end of this year, and be put into use in 2010 after being examined and approved by national-level authorities. As one of the first group of expanded bonded logistics centers approved by the State Council, this free trade zone in Zhongshan is much like that in Hong Kong.
Tang Bingquan, Vice-Chairman of Guangdong People's Political Consultative Conference, Chen Genkai, Party Secretary, Mayor Li Qihong, as well as Chen Liping, Director-general of Gongbei Customs were present at the dedication ceremony.
The free trade zone connects Panyu-Zhongshan Highway in the east, Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway in the west, Yangguang Road in the north and Xinlong Express Route in the south. It boasts both regional and transportation advantages with such favorable geographical location.
As a major project of "11th Five-year Plan" program in Zhongshan city and Guangdong Province, Zhongshan Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) is entitled to take advantage of the preferential policies. With the total area of 307 hectares as planned, the project will be developed into three phases, the first phase of which takes up 53 hectares of land and 130,000 square meters of construction area, with investment of 680 million yuan.
