The opening ceremony of the 3rd Zhongshan Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition for International Overseas Chinese Youth was held at the Zhongshan International Talent Hub on August 25.

The organizer held a press conference on August 24 to introduce the overall schedule and the preparation of the competition.

The competition will award one gold, two silver and three bronze medal winners, with bonuses of 100,000 yuan, 50,000 yuan and 20,000 yuan each, respectively, in addition to Excellence Awards and Special Innovation Awards. Winning projects that chooses to settle in Cuiheng New District or South District will be given an additional reward of 100,000 yuan each.

The previous two editions of the Zhongshan Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition for International Overseas Chinese Youth attracted 3,918 individuals and 670 teams in total.

The competition has gathered a number of high-growth projects. Seven of them had signed cooperation intention agreements with the National Health Technology Park, Chant Group, the Nanlang Youth Innovation Park, ECwork and other institutions in the first quarter of 2023, with a total investment of over 250 million yuan and 20 doctoral or master's degree holders introduced as project members.
