Business Collaboration Between Guangdong & Fortune Global 500 Companies will open in Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center today. Zhongshan city takes advantage of this opportunity, contacts the enterprises actively and strives to promote the signing of the projects.


Zhongshan plans to sign investment projects worth 4 billion dollars (including cooperation projects between foreign-funded enterprises or wholly foreign-owned enterprises and central or private enterprises), utilize foreign investment of 1.2 billion dollars, and strive to take the lead in Guangdong province. Since the end of May, relevant departments paid visits to overseas headquarters of Fortune Global 500 companies, travelled to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and communicated effectively with executives of over 10 well-known enterprises such as Wistron (Zhongshan), Decathlon, PPG, etc. Their visits received active responses. Decathlon, the largest sports goods distributor in Europe and second largest in the world, thinks highly of investment prospects in Zhongshan, plans to invest four chain markets selling professional sports goods in Western District, Eastern District, Huoju District, Xiaolan Town, and the cooperation with Western District is almost fixed. This business collaboration facilitates 31 projects from Fortune Global 500 and large overseas enterprises, covering new light source industry, equipment manufacturing industry, service industry, tourism industry, business, etc. The project of central area of Zhongshan Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone is the key project of Zhongshan.

So far, the number of potential projects reported has hit 131 with the total investment of 5,308 million dollars, among which 46 are overseas projects worth 30 million dollars or more. 11 out of Fortune Global 500 companies plan to invest or expand investment in Zhongshan whose investment amount totaling 694 million dollars. 59 large enterprises plan to expand investment of 1,737 million dollars in Zhongshan.
