The reporter has leant from the teach-in entitled “Promoting transformation and upgrading, Strengthening the corporation between customs and businesses” in Zhongshan customs that measures would be taken in Gongbei Customs and Zhongshan Customers which is affiliated to the former, in order to promote the transformation and upgrading of the processing trade. It is understood that in the first half of this year, 19 businesses in the processing trade in Zhongshan registered for the transformation and upgrading, 15 of which succeeded in transforming from the original processing factories to the processing enterprises with independent access to foreign trade, accounting for 80% of the total.

The measures include: innovation of the management of processing trade, supporting the development of new strategic industry like the manufacturing of high-end equipment, carrying out a risk supervision on those shipping businesses with sound credit and standard management, which aims at their bonded business and which is based on the e-account and self-checking, and encouraging processing businesses to expand the domestic market, set up a special branch to deal with domestic market and improve the “green channel” concerning the taxes of domestic sales.

According to statistics, in the first half of this year, foreign trade in Zhongshan keeps developing stably, achieving a gross export value of 16.63 billion US dollars, which is 14.2% more than that of the same period last year.
