The export of Zhongshan maintains a rapid growth in July, with the import & export volume totaling 2.87 billion dollars, up by 27.9% compared with the same period of last year. The export volume hit 2.09 billion dollars, up by 30%, while the import volume up by 22.8%. The total export volume of Zhongshan in the first 7 months of 2010 ranks No. 5 in Guangdong Province.

As is seen from the statistics, the trading partners of Zhongshan are regular ones such as Hong Kong, the United States, the European Union, Japan, ASEAN. The trading volume with these countries and regions witnessed rapid growth. However, the direct trades with other regions in Asia are in deficit, having much room for growth.

In the first 7 months of this year, the export of high-tech products rose by a large margin. Among the top 10 export commodities, export volume of mechanical and electrical products reached 3.59 billion dollars. At the same time, the growth rate of the traditional export products such as garments, shoes, lighting, and furniture increased in different degrees on a month-on-month basis.
