Yesterday afternoon, Vice Party Secretary and Acting Mayor Xue Xiaofeng met with director and general manager of JATCO (Guangzhou) Automatic Transmission Ltd. and his delegation. Xue expects more Japanese investment in Zhongshan.

JATCO, one of the three major transmission manufacturers in the world, is a subsidiary of Nissan which manufactures automatic transmissions for automobiles. JATCO (Guangzhou), located in Guangzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, is solely owned by Japanese side. Xue expressed that auto parts industry is an important industry in Zhongshan. Of the 100-odd automotive-related businesses in Zhongshan, Japanese enterprises play a decisive role. Investment from JATCO and other Japanese businesses are welcome.
