Governor Huang Huahua was interviewed by 16 media from Taiwan yesterday. He answered questions on the preparation of the Asia Games, economic cooperation between Taiwan and Guangdong, especially the “Taiwan-Guangdong Week”,which is going to be held in August in Taiwan.

Huang Huahua at first showed his appreciation for the concern and support of Taiwan Media to the development of Guangdong and introduced the development of Guangdong since the opening and reform. He said Guangdong is not far from Taiwan and now more than 4 million Cantonese live in Taiwan; they made great contribution to the development of Taiwan. Taiwan investors actively invest in Guangdong and Taiwan is becoming the second largest source of foreign investment in Guangdong. In the coming Asia Games, there are several Taiwan sponsors, which is the first time for Taiwan enterprise to sponsor international sports events held in mainland. The cooperation between Taiwan and Guangdong would certainly benefit both sides.

Huang also stated the to-be-held “Taiwan-Guangdong Week” includes economic cooperation, commodity purchase, tourism cooperation, agriculture cooperation, culture exchange and publicity of the Asia Games. On 16, August, the starting ceremony of “One thousand people tour in Taiwan” will also be held. He hoped that both sides could accomplish a lot through the broad contact of Taiwan and Guangdong.
